Why do people believe in conspiracy theories? I personally believe in conspiracy theories; not because it changes the way the event actually happened, but because it puts people in the set of mind of the “what if”.
On June 6, 2018, David Ludden posted an article called, “Why Do People Believe In Conspiracy Theories?”, this article talks about how people like conspiracy theories and why. I chose this article to find out why we believe in conspiracy theories because I personally believe in them. In the article it talked about “the desire for understanding and certainty”, I found this part interesting because what it says is true.
Ludden asks a question and makes us wonder “why is that?”; he really goes into detail on why people might believe in the C.T. , the researchers have found that reasons for believing is because od desire; “the desire of understanding and certainty” “the desire for control and security” “the desire to maintain a positive self-image”.
By looking at this article we can determine that this is an informative article. The article is letting us know why people believe in conspiracy theories and why they have a reason to believe in them and plus Ludden is not telling us directly to believe in them.
