Charles M. "Blows" Thesis.

In Charles M. Blows "Library Visit, Then Held at Gunpoint", he knows how to really get into people’s mind and make them feel what he is feeling by delivering a successful thesis. In the article "Library Visit...". the perspective of the student and parent are frightened. The student was frightened because he did not know why he was being detained, the parent was frightened because they didn’t know if their son was going to be in danger. This makes people feel at home because it makes them show how the parents worry about their child’s safety. In the article, the article states in the title as “Held at Gunpoint” but in paragraph one he states that “He had been accosted by a campus police officer, at gunpoint!”, this comes to show just how fast he comes to put another strong word and really change the tone of the story.
Later on, in the article, it says "The officer raised his gun at me, and told me to get on the ground. I stopped looking at the officer looked down at the pavement, dropped to my knees, and laid on my stomach. I got up slowly, I was scared, my legs were shaking." This quote comes to show how it brings suspense to the article and brings it close to the thesis.
Overall in my opinion Blow had a more successful way into delivering his thesis statement because he really knows how to get into detail within the topic which is good for what he’s trying to prove about the topic. He really knew how to make us think and wonder, it depends on how you want to view the story.
